A little bit about me

I grew up in Madison, Wisconsin and graduated high school in 2017. I was a gymnastics coach and taught kids ages 2-17. I had three nanny jobs throughout high school. Each family had two kids and the ages ranged from 5-13.

I went to college in Kansas and got a degree in Environmental Science and graduated in May 2021. I moved to Montana to work for the Conservation Corps. I also worked in Southern California at an Outdoor Education Science Camp where I was an educator. I then moved to San Fransisco to work as an outdoor educator at another school. I have experience teaching kids (14-17) outdoor ethics, backpacking skills, conflict resolution/team building, communication skills, and outdoor science topics such as forest ecology and geology.

I love to spend time outdoors creating more environmental stewards to help protect our planet!

A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Harlie and I am very experienced in childcare! I usually DSP during the school year and a little during the summer, but would love extra jobs babysitting or being a nanny! I also work part time at summer camps with kids and support children who have disabilities and encourage as much inclusion as possible! Throughout the summer I work with a wide variety of ages and have cared for infants in the past as well. I’ve grown up with 4 younger sisters who taught me a lot about the importance of development in caring for kids as each are far apart in age. As I have two other jobs this summer I am looking for flexibility in scheduling and availability while also committing to those jobs! I would love to meet any families or parents interested to see if I’d be a great fit!

A little bit about me

Hello! My name is Josee. I was born and raised here in Bend! I am currently home for the summer from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, where I am a psychology major working toward my goal of becoming a Mental Health Counselor. I have extensive experience working with kids as a former babysitter, camp counselor, and after-school care provider for Parks and Rec. While group activities are fun, I truly love spending one-on-one time with kiddos because it allows me to build meaningful connections. I love to go exploring and find new spots in nature, but I also enjoy creating fun arts and crafts projects, reading together, and keeping your little ones engaged at home!

A little bit about me

Hello! My name is Laura and I am a 25 year old graduate student looking for nanny work in the Rogue Valley. I have been working with kids (through nannying, tutoring, mentoring, and applied behavior analysis therapy) starting when I was 14 (still a kid myself!). I am very reliable and communicable. I love to stay active and am happy to contribute to the day to day needs of childcare - picking up and dropping off, cleaning, meals, homework etc. but I also enjoy being able to take kids on adventures and encourage them to explore different activities and hobbies. I am happy to provide references or answer any questions you may have!

A little bit about me

Hi I'm Nicole! Im 29 years old and have lived in Bend for 6 years now. I started out working in the hospital as a medical scribe and then as a pediatric medical assistant proceeding my premed degree from UNC Chapel Hill. I long had the dream to become a pediatrician one day to dedicate my life to serving and caring for children, but life tends to throw changes your way and the best response I’ve learned is to adapt and change along with it. I am a lively and energetic young woman who loves kids more than anything and would provide the best care and nourishment to the little sparks of light in your life!

A little bit about me

Hi! I’m Luna 😊

I have about a year and a half of experience as a teacher in a licensed daycare and preschool, along with six years of nannying and babysitting for kids of all ages. I truly love working with children and creating a fun, safe, and supportive environment where they can learn and just be kids.

I’m CPR and first aid certified, and I have reliable transportation, so you can feel confident your little ones are in good hands. I enjoy doing things like arts and crafts, outdoor play, games, and simple activities like nature walks, anything that keeps kids engaged and having fun.

I’m currently in college studying early childhood education and development, which helps me bring even more care and intention into what I do.

I’d love to connect and see if I’d be a good fit for your family!

How to Find a Babysitter in Bend, OR

Nanny Lane is a child care website meant to help you find a babysitter in your area. Our child care services include background checks, PLUS, and payroll.

Understand Babysitter Responsibilities in Bend, OR

Before beginning the search for a babysitter, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a babysitter is the right choice for your child care needs. There are lots of benefits to hiring a babysitter such as getting the flexibility of having some more time for yourself or with your partner. When hiring a babysitter, first, you should explore the differences between a nanny and a babysitter. If you’re looking for occasional child care, babysitters are the right choice for you, but if you’re looking for more frequent care, a nanny may be better for your needs.

From there, you can think about what you expect your babysitter to handle so that you can create a profile for nannies to reach out to you. The boundaries for babysitters’ duties can vary from family to family. However, in general, a babysitter is responsible for making sure your kids’ needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example to housekeeping, laundry, or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your babysitter before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location in Bend can impact how much you pay your babysitter.

Bend Babysitter Interviews

Once you start connecting with prospective babysitters, the next step is to conduct an interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some babysitter interview questions to consider asking:

  • Do you have experience being a babysitter?
  • What sort of household tasks are you open and comfortable doing?
  • Do you have any references?
  • Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Oregon?
  • Do you have a Oregon driver’s license? Do you own a car?
  • How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?

During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a babysitter that you’re considering hiring, make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your babysitter. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around babysitter responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming!

And of course, as you learn how to hire a babysitter, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.
