A little bit about me

I have owned & run an in home daycare for 27 years. I was a nanny for two families prior to this. I also had steady babysitting jobs prior to that. I am licensed CPR & First aid certified and love working with children. My daycare runs on love structure & routine. I have never had to advertise & have stayed full strictly parents referring me to their friends & family. I am thinking about becoming a nanny again & closing the daycare. It is a very hard decision for me. These children are family to me. It will have to be the perfect fit for me to make the move. I currently own my home in Revere where I work. I am willing to travel on the north shore area. I am extremely responsible, I have a strong bond with the children I care for (still close to many from over 20 years ago) , I have excellent references, I enjoy being outdoors & doing fun activities. If there is anything I missed please feel free to reach out. [email hidden] [phone number hidden] thank you

A little bit about me

HI! I am Cassidy, a 27 year old Interior Designer living in Melrose, MA. I have been nannying and babysitting since I was 16 years old. My experience ranges from a full-time position with a 3 month old and 2 year old, to a part-time nannying position with a 9 and 12 year old, and four years of experience with ages 4-8 in between. I have always had a passion for being a caregiver, being able to nurture and provide a happy, safe and comfortable environment will always be my top priority.

I am looking for a part-time position, either early morning or late afternoon care. I work full time 9-5, but love to stay active and busy. During the Fall I coach volleyball, so when I am not in season, I look forward to continuing to fill my time with being a caregiver and getting to know the amazing families I work with.😊

A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Angela. I’ve been taking care of children for about 5 years, starting when my first niece was born. A year ago, I began caring for my youngest nephew, who was born extremely premature. That experience deeply inspired me and made me realize how much I enjoy caring for children.
I’m a very responsible, respectful, and patient person, especially with kids. I can help with meal preparation, keep the environment clean and safe, and support the child’s daily routine with love and attention.
I speak Spanish fluently, and my English is at a basic level, but I’m always willing to learn and improve. I don’t have a driver’s license at the moment, but I am a legal resident and completed high school in my home country.
I would be happy to meet your family and offer a safe and caring space for your little ones!

Understand Nanny Responsibilities in Melrose, MA

Before beginning the search for a nanny, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a nanny is the right choice for your child care needs. In hiring a nanny, first, you should think through what responsibilities you expect your nanny to handle. With that information, you can create a profile so that nannies can reach out to you. The boundaries for nannies duties vary from family to family. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example, housekeeping or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your nanny before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location can impact how much you should pay your nanny.

Melrose Nanny Interviews

Once you start connecting with prospective nannies, the next step is a nanny interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some nanny interview questions to consider asking:

  • Do you have experience being a nanny?
  • How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?
  • What sort of household tasks are you open to doing?
  • Are you open to a live in arrangement in Melrose? Do you have experience being a live in nanny?
  • Are you open to being a nanny in a nanny share?
  • Do you have any references?
  • Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Melrose?
  • Do you have a driver’s license in MA? Do you own a car?
  • What salary are you seeking? Are you open to being paid through direct-deposit, pay stubs?
  • What are your expectations around over-time pay and vacation time?

During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references, and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a prospective nanny, it’s essential to make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your nanny. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around nanny responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming! And of course, as you learn how to hire a nanny, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.

Daycare vs. Hiring a Nanny

Choosing between putting your child in daycare and hiring a nanny can be a tough decision. While nannies are often more expensive, they provide individualized attention and flexibility. Daycares, on the other hand, prioritize socialization. Our Nanny vs Daycare guide can help you determine what's best for your family.
