A little bit about me…

Hi there! My name is Lisa and I can’t wait to meet your family!
I’m originally from Texas, where I nannied for an amazing family for 3 year. They ended up moving to Missouri and I following them up pretty close behind. They ended up moving back a year later but by then I had met my husband and fallen in love with Missouri.
I started teaching at our local childcare center in the 3 year old class. Once covid hit I went back to being a nanny for another amazing family. I’ve been with them for almost 4 years! With them I’ve discovered my passion for homeschooling, exploring many of Columbias local parks, and understanding behavioral challenges. They’re kids are now in school and their financial situation has changed. I’m looking for another full time position.

"Lisa Evans is an amazing human being! She is kind and caring, intelligent and responsible. Lisa is great with our kids! She knows how to set healthy boundaries that the kids understand and respect. They have a blast when she is here! Lisa takes them on fun outings and participates in make believe play. She is a generous and patient teacher. She makes well balanced meals for them and encourages them to eat, even their veggies, in a creative way that the boys enjoy! I cannot say one negative thing about her and I’m truly heartbroken to have to let her go. The only reason we cannot keep her is because our financial position has changed. She is an incredible nanny. The next family she nanny’s for will be truly blessed by hiring her as we have been; I have no doubt."

"Of all of our sitters and nannies, Miss Marquise had made the most special, meaningful connection with our daughter. She has an amazing personality and a very special way of connecting with kids that make them want to follow her every lead. My daughter still wants to visit with Miss Marquise every time she comes to town and that fact that Miss Marquise makes that a priority means she will always hold a special place in our family’s heart. We still miss her dearly!!"

A little bit about me…

Dear prospective parents,

I hope this intro finds you well. I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and share some relevant information about my background. My name is Amy Britz and I relocated to STL from MI at the age of 23. I made the move with my former husband.

I am proud to say that I am a devoted parent to three wonderful children, Harper (23), Avery (21), and Soren (17). Although my ex-husband and I divorced a decade ago, we have managed to maintain a strong co-parenting relationship, thanks to years of professional guidance and a shared commitment to our children's well-being.

Professionally, I started my career in childcare during high school and continued with a nanny agency upon relocating. Over time, I have independently built a remarkable clientele in family care, serving in various capacities.

In terms of education, I graduated from Fontbonne University in 2008, where I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education.

Warm regards,
Amy

"Amy is passionate about arts and crafts, accommodating for the special needs of the child, and spending time outdoors. She would bring craft ideas or special toys. Several times she baked cookies or made special treats with our daughters. Amy loves to create sidewalk chalk art. She does her best to spend time outdoors everyday with our children when weather permits, which has also included scavenger hunts, going on walks, swimming in our kiddie pool, water sprinklers, bubbles, and walking to the park. Amy would also plan out more tactile crafts specifically for my daughter’s special needs. One day they molded play dough flowers onto paper, using different types of finger movements to make the different flowers. My daughter was always very excited to hear that Amy would be coming to play. Amy is enthusiastic about working with kids, particularly those who may need additional considerations or accommodations. She is creative and committed to providing safe and stimulating childcare."

How to Hire a Nanny in Missouri

Nanny Lane is an easy-to-use website that helps families find experienced local nannies in Missouri. Simplify your nanny search and find your perfect nanny today. Our services include background checks, nanny contracts, and nanny payroll.

Understand Nanny Responsibilities in Missouri

Before beginning the search for a nanny, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a nanny is the right choice for your child care needs. In hiring a nanny, first, you should think through what responsibilities you expect your nanny to handle. With that information, you can create a profile so that nannies can reach out to you. The boundaries for nannies duties vary from family to family. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example, housekeeping or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your nanny before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location can impact how much you should pay your nanny.

Missouri Nanny Interviews

Once you start connecting with prospective nannies, the next step is a nanny interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some nanny interview questions to consider asking:

  • Do you have experience being a nanny?
  • How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?
  • What sort of household tasks are you open to doing?
  • Are you open to a live in arrangement in Missouri? Do you have experience being a live in nanny?
  • Are you open to being a nanny in a nanny share?
  • Do you have any references?
  • Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Missouri?
  • Do you have a Missouri driver’s license? Do you own a car?
  • What salary are you seeking? Are you open to being paid through direct-deposit, pay stubs?
  • What are your expectations around over-time pay and vacation time?

During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references, and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a prospective nanny, it’s essential to make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your nanny. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around nanny responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming! And of course, as you learn how to hire a nanny, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.
