A little bit about us
Our kids are wonderfully themselves. Our 10 year old would be thrilled to have a caregiver that can participate in creative backyard games and is willing to kick a soccer ball around with him. Our youngest is a storyteller. She loves doing art, singing, and imagining new stories with others.
The oldest is in 5th grade so his after school schedule typically includes play at the school fields, then home, snack, some mellow reading time, then homework and instrument practice before enjoying some more play. The youngest likewise loves time to play with friends at the school fields before heading home for a filling snack, and then settling in for art, books, and creative play.
We'd like to find a caregiver that is willing to arrive at our home at 2:30/3 (Mondays and Tuesdays) and at 1/1:30 on (Wednesday), prep snacks, and then walk to the school for school pick up. (We live a five minute walk from the kids' school.) We'd then ask that you stay at the school while the kids play for 30 or so minutes before walking them home for snack and at home after school play and activities (homework, etc.). There is no expectation to transport the kids to their evening activities. If you are willing to assist with house tidying and dinner prep, we would appreciate it (and would compensate accordingly) but it's not a requirement of the position. We are also interested in the occasional evening hours care and/or Sunday afternoon care if schedules align.
Experience working with elementary-aged children is a must. A good fit will be someone who is calm, creative, and a clear communicator. We expect minimal phone use while caring for the kids. We're a two mom household. Kindness and respect towards all are core household values for us. The caregiver must be available to stay until 6 PM.
