A little bit about us

Hello! We are looking for a weekday afternoon sitter for our 3yo boy, specifically to give him active play opportunities outside of the house (East Long Beach, near CSULB).
Schedule: 4:30-5:30pm, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. During this time, Dad will be home, and Mom will either be working from home or commuting. There will be opportunities for occasional weeknight and weekend sitting as well.
Start date: Sometime in August. We are looking for support until at least the end of 2026, and possibly through mid-2027.
Active play: This could include taking our son out to ride his tricycle or run around our neighborhood; going to a nearby park; teaching him your sport in the yard; etc. He'll be coming home from preschool after naptime, and we want him to have a chance to get his afternoon wiggles out!
Other responsibilities: Meeting him where he’s at with diaper/potty training. Snack and water. Street safety and first aid as needed.
Pay: $20/hr. (Also: please consider if you would be comfortable occasionally watching two 3yo boys at a two-child rate. Our neighbor may sometimes want her son to join for the play hour; our boys are good friends.)
Ideal candidate: Nurturing, patient, and active. Prior experience with 3yos. Reliable transportation. Non-smoker. 2+ references who are willing to speak on the phone. OK with dogs: we have a friendly mid-size dog. First Aid/CPR training is a plus.
Please send me a message telling me about yourself and your fit for the position if this is of interest. Thank you!
