A little bit about me

I’m 23 and I came to the US when I was 19, as an aupair. I had a great host family for 2 years, then I got married and I have my greencard. I’m originally from Mexico and I like to speak and teach my nanny kids some spanish if that’s okay with you. My family back in Mexico owns a school, so I grew up wanting to be a teacher and be around kids. I worked as a camp counselor and as a cheerleader coach. After my host family I had a great family in Edina, 2 boys (3y/old and 4months) I stayed with them for over a year and unfortunately they moved to Chicago, last April. Then I found a family in Minnetonka and I watch a baby currently she’s 10 months old and her sister comes to school so i’m the evenings I have both. I started with this family before the baby was born, and I started caring for her since she was 5 days old. So a lot of infant experience. I’m currently a part time student at Normandale, I’m working towards my associates in Engineering.

A little bit about me

Hi friends and families,

I'm 27, bi-racial and I've got my BS in music Education - I taught 6-8th grade choir for a few years before moving into property management and now nannying. I'm a dog mom, avid kayaker and when I'm at a gathering, I'm playing with the kids.

The family I'm currently working with (ages 3,5 and 8) will no longer need care starting 09/08/23, as the kids will be in fulltime school.
My current responsibilities look like: pick up/drop off
grocery pick up/shop
meal prep/cook
potty training
fun activities/outside/arts and crafts
light/moderate housework
Laundry

I live in Edina and willing to travel up to 30 minutes - with reliable transportation and clean record.
I've recently been vegan and currently (mostly) gluten free and dairy free, so I've got allergies covered!

I hope this finds you well and I'd love to connect and see if this is a good fit :)

Understand Nanny Responsibilities in Bloomington, MN

Before beginning the search for a nanny, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a nanny is the right choice for your child care needs. In hiring a nanny, first, you should think through what responsibilities you expect your nanny to handle. With that information, you can create a profile so that nannies can reach out to you. The boundaries for nannies duties vary from family to family. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example, housekeeping or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your nanny before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location can impact how much you should pay your nanny.

Bloomington Nanny Interviews

Once you start connecting with prospective nannies, the next step is a nanny interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some nanny interview questions to consider asking:

  • Do you have experience being a nanny?
  • How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?
  • What sort of household tasks are you open to doing?
  • Are you open to a live in arrangement in Bloomington? Do you have experience being a live in nanny?
  • Are you open to being a nanny in a nanny share?
  • Do you have any references?
  • Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Bloomington?
  • Do you have a driver’s license in MN? Do you own a car?
  • What salary are you seeking? Are you open to being paid through direct-deposit, pay stubs?
  • What are your expectations around over-time pay and vacation time?

During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references, and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a prospective nanny, it’s essential to make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your nanny. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around nanny responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming! And of course, as you learn how to hire a nanny, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.

Daycare vs. Hiring a Nanny

Choosing between putting your child in daycare and hiring a nanny can be a tough decision. While nannies are often more expensive, they provide individualized attention and flexibility. Daycares, on the other hand, prioritize socialization. Our Nanny vs Daycare guide can help you determine what's best for your family.
