A little bit about me

Experienced nanny with over 10 years of experience working with children. The past 6 nannying. Previously I taught dance and gymnastics as well as working in a daycare. I have worked with ages 6 months to 16 years. I am currently working with a two year old girl who I’ve been with since she was 10 months. In that time I helped create positive daily routines, built self confidence/expression while maintaining kind and respectful manners, as well as elevating education and walking through the stages of life and development. My main goal is to help these kids grow up with the love, support, and guidance that they need to succeed. It has been an absolute joy watching her grow up and experience the world. I am happy to help wherever is needed. Grocery runs, dry cleaning, laundry, dishes, general cleaning, meal prep, organizing etc. It truly is a passion of mine to work with kids and just overall help others, especially a family live their best life. Happy to answer any questions!

"I found Ronnie on care.com, she came for an interview and the second she sat down, my son (3 at the time) was immediately drawn to her. He has high functioning autism spectrum disorder, Ronnie started singing for him and that was it, hes obsessed with music. He essentially picked her for me. She proceeded to tell me she was a music therapist which was exactly what my son needed. We hired her a day later. She would always send me videos while she was taking care of my son while they were laughing hysterically and belting out a song. She never had the TV on, she always kept him entertained with other things. She was always on time and would go over and beyond by cooking and cleaning if she felt it needed to be done. I suffer from migraines, she did alot of on call work for us and was always there no matter how long the day. I would definently recommend Ronnie to any family that wants someone who loves and treats their child like he/she is their own."

A little bit about me

I am originally from Texas and have lived/Nannied in Santa Barbara for the past 3 years. I have cared for children my whole life. With a very large family and working in a Day care as one of my family’s businesses. This has taught me extraordinary skills in working with my passion for caring for children. I have cared for children of all ages from infants to teenagers. I personally don’t have a preference on the child’s age that I care for. I try my best to leave each child with some type of new knowledge before returning them to their parent/guardian. However, most often I learn so much from the children as well. I have currently transitioned from Santa Barbara to Glendale looking for a family in need of childcare/nanny services. I hope I am the perfect fit for you and your family!

"Allaiyah has been such a great help with my child. My daughter (4 years old) adores her and always has fun. Allaiyah is very keen to detail and is very punctual. She respects the guidelines and obligations that I set for my kid. She is very well at communicating and informing me of the day while I'm away. Allaiyah still occasionally watches my daughter when schedules align and I couldn't be happier with her as a nanny. "

Understand Nanny Responsibilities in Glendale, CA

Before beginning the search for a nanny, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a nanny is the right choice for your child care needs. In hiring a nanny, first, you should think through what responsibilities you expect your nanny to handle. With that information, you can create a profile so that nannies can reach out to you. The boundaries for nannies duties vary from family to family. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example, housekeeping or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your nanny before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location can impact how much you should pay your nanny.

Glendale Nanny Interviews

Once you start connecting with prospective nannies, the next step is a nanny interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some nanny interview questions to consider asking:

  • Do you have experience being a nanny?
  • How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?
  • What sort of household tasks are you open to doing?
  • Are you open to a live in arrangement in Glendale? Do you have experience being a live in nanny?
  • Are you open to being a nanny in a nanny share?
  • Do you have any references?
  • Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Glendale?
  • Do you have a driver’s license in CA? Do you own a car?
  • What salary are you seeking? Are you open to being paid through direct-deposit, pay stubs?
  • What are your expectations around over-time pay and vacation time?

During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references, and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a prospective nanny, it’s essential to make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your nanny. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around nanny responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming! And of course, as you learn how to hire a nanny, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help

Daycare vs. Hiring a Nanny

Choosing between putting your child in daycare and hiring a nanny can be a tough decision. While nannies are often more expensive, they provide individualized attention and flexibility. Daycares, on the other hand, prioritize socialization. Our Nanny vs Daycare guide can help you determine what's best for your family.
