More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
Before my nanny job with a family from Statesville, I worked at New Perth preschool for 4 years. I was the lead in a 2 yo classroom with 10 children and an assistant.
I worked at Primrose school of Lake Norman (3 yo classroom as Assistant teacher) and also Rocky Mount (3 yo assistant teacher and also a 3 yo lead) before that.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Children learn through play. Letting them lead the way and being there for safety and support. I love being outside with kids whether it's walking around the yard or the playground, pushing them on a swing, looking for fun things to make some crafts with, water play, bubbles, chalk, riding a bike, etc.
I love reading to children as well. Music, arts and crafts, cooking...it all depends on the child and what makes them happy.

The most important part about being a nanny...
1- building trust.
2- establish a routine
3- consistency
When Miss Wina is here we follow her rules even if they're not exactly the same as mom & dad's rules.
Just like preschool, kids do better when parents just drop off vs linger. In school we have rules & young children do better with rules:
Use walking feet indoors. Running is for outside. Or, inside voices vs outside voices.
Sitting during snack or lunch vs walking around with food.
If naptime applies, we set up a routine & stick to it as best we can.
With my last job-
Audrey ate lunch,
after lunch was nursing w/mom, then
upstairs w/me where
I rocked/sang her to sleep. After she outgrew nursing, it was bottle w/me upstairs, then, no bottle just rocking, singing, nap.
Through the stages of growing, small changes took place but the basic routine stayed intact.
I am not strict, it's teaching children to (unknowingly) accept that a loose schedule helps them very much & therefore they're happier kids in the long run.

My experience with special needs children...
I don't have any experience with special needs children.
I'm open to the possibility with the right family.

The most important part about being a nanny...
I literally have so many! Kids are funny and so sweet. I love when we reach the point where they're so excited that Miss Wina is coming! The joy it brings to your heart when you've connected with a child and they trust you.
In preschool,a favorite of mine was when the kids were painting the plastic playhouses outside with regular sized, house painting paint brushes and water. Lol! They loved it and were all so busy painting!
Or when they love a certain book and ask to you to read it everyday! Or when they sing/dance organically rather than instructed. So cute!!
I have so many pictures still from years ago that spark some funny and proud moments in preschool.
Nannying is basically the same, just a little better in that it's more one on one time!
The toughest part is when it ends.
