A little bit about us
I'm a single mom with a demanding career, looking for a warm, responsible, energetic person to join our household in a unique part-time, live-in role. This could be a great fit for a graduate student or young professional seeking comfortable housing, additional income, and a meaningful relationship with a wonderful 12-year-old.
The role is 15–25 hours/week, with housing + hourly pay. I'm looking for someone who can be more than a babysitter—a trusted older friend and mentor who enjoys helping a creative kid thrive.
THE ROLE
• Typical weekday: <1 hour of morning help + ~2 hours late afternoon/early evening
• Additional hours occasionally for activities, appointments, evenings, meals, or household tasks
• Primary responsibility is transportation: helping her get ready/get to school and picking her up for activities, rehearsals, appointments, or home
• Help with organization, transitions, and simple meals/snacks
• Some flexibility is important
REQUIREMENTS
• Valid driver's license, safe/reliable car & excellent driving record — required
• Non-smoker
• Warm, patient, dependable, creative, and genuinely enjoys young people
• ADHD/neurodiversity experience is a plus
ABOUT MY DAUGHTER
She's 12, with a huge heart. She's creative and bright, and loves reading, theater, drawing, and music. She has ADHD, so I'm looking for someone patient, encouraging, flexible, and good-humored who can be a positive role model.
LIVING ARRANGEMENT
You would have a private bedroom on a separate floor from me and my daughter, plus a full bathroom with shower on that floor (primarily for your use). And, of course, access to common areas.
I value privacy and independence and want this to feel like a comfortable home—not a place where you're constantly "on duty."
We have a sweet dog and cat, so must also love animals!
Please tell me about yourself, and what you're looking for in a live-in arrangement.
