A little bit about us…

We are looking for a live-out nanny to help care for these two girls when I am out of town for work. Overnights (average 3-4 nights per week) and mornings before school day and 3pm onward are the daily school session timeframe.
Responsibilities would include:
Homework oversight, with Hollyn
Making dinners
Liking dogs 🐶!
Being an outdoors person in favorable weather.
Overall gentle manner albeit disciplined as well.

I work out of town but when I’m home, there is no need for you to be here! Some months you may work very little, some you may work more. Pay is flat rate and every two weeks, whether you work less or work more.

The gist of it is: I am in the airline industry and I’m based in NYC. Occasionally a flight home gets canceled or I’m delayed getting home. I need flexibility in your schedule to handle any unforeseen gaps in coverage.
The girls are great! 13 & 16 (8th and 11th grades). The oldest has a car and drives her and her cousin to school. The oldest is on the highschool swim team and will get herself to/from practices throughout the season. My goal is to be home for all meets but occasionally I cannot due to schedule conflict. The youngest played rec volleyball but may be done, will revisit that option in September. They can do pretty much everything themselves and they’re very kind and nice teens! They go to school full time (knock on wood) and so far they’re doing wonderful in their studies.
Message me with any questions! I can explain schedule and dog duties better.

Thank you!

Types of Nanny Jobs and Nanny Responsibilities in South Carolina

Before you start looking for a nanny job, it's essential to learn about the different types of nannies and how they compare to each other so that you make sure you’re looking for the right opportunities.

The different types of nanny jobs have different nanny responsibilities. The boundaries for nannies duties vary from family to family. However, in general, a nanny is responsible for making sure the children's needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example, housekeeping or meal preparation, it’s good practice to make sure your expectations are aligned with the family.

There are temporary nanny jobs, even seasonal nanny jobs like summer nanny jobs. Beyond seasonal and temporary nanny positions, there are differences between full-time and part-time nanny jobs. The primary difference being the number of hours you spend at your nanny job every week. For full-time nannies, there are options for live in nanny positions and live-out positions in South Carolina. Live-out positions are more common, but each family has their own set of needs that require different types of care, and live in nanny positions can be exactly what some families want. If you're looking to explore live in nanny positions, it's even more important to create a shared set of expectations around hours, responsibilities, and what is expected of you when you're not on the clock.

If you're exploring other types of jobs beyond nanny positions, consider looking into cleaning jobs, pet sitting jobs, luxury fashion jobs, or elder care jobs.

  • What kind of activities will you do with children this age?
  • How do you handle problems that arise behaviorally and emotionally with kids this age?
