A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Caitlyn, and I’m 18 years old. I’m a caring, dependable, and patient person with a passion for helping others. I have experience working in an assisted living community, where I’ve developed strong caregiving skills, responsibility, and compassion.

In addition, I completed an Early Childhood Education program, where I learned about child development, age-appropriate activities, creating safe environments, and supporting children’s learning and growth. I’m also working toward a career in nursing, so providing quality care has always been important to me.

I’m reliable, eager to learn, and committed to creating a fun, safe, and nurturing environment where children can thrive. I’d love the opportunity to get to know your family and discuss how I can support your children’s needs. Thank you for considering my application, and I look forward to hearing from you!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I completed an Early Childhood Education program where I learned about child development, classroom management, safety, and age-appropriate activities. As part of the program, I completed internships in an elementary school, a special education classroom, and a daycare, where I helped supervise children, assisted with daily routines, supported learning activities, and created a safe, positive environment.

I currently work as a Resident Care Aide in an assisted living community, where I provide compassionate care, assist with daily living activities, and communicate effectively with residents and coworkers. These experiences have strengthened my patience, responsibility, and ability to provide attentive, high-quality care. I am passionate about helping children learn, grow, and feel safe, and I look forward to bringing those qualities to your family.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy spending quality time with children through fun, engaging, and educational activities. Some of my favorite activities include arts and crafts, reading books, playing outside, going for walks, visiting parks, building with blocks or LEGOs, playing board games and puzzles, baking simple treats together, doing age-appropriate science or sensory activities, listening to music, dancing, and encouraging imaginative play. I also enjoy helping with homework, teaching new skills, and creating a safe, positive environment where children feel supported, confident, and encouraged to learn and have fun.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I believe the most important part of being a nanny is creating a safe, loving, and supportive environment where children feel comfortable, valued, and encouraged to be themselves. Building trust with both the children and their parents is essential. I also believe it’s important to be patient, dependable, and attentive while helping children learn, grow, and have fun. My goal is to care for each child as if they were my own family member, while always respecting the parents’ wishes and routines.

My experience with special needs children...

During my Early Childhood Education program, I completed an internship in a special education classroom where I worked with children with a variety of learning and developmental needs. I assisted the teacher with classroom activities, supported students individually and in small groups, encouraged participation, and helped create a safe, patient, and positive learning environment. This experience taught me the importance of understanding each child’s unique needs, communicating with patience and kindness, and adapting my approach to help every child succeed.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I loved seeing the children become excited to learn and play, and it was rewarding to build relationships with them over time. Watching them smile, gain confidence, and reach new milestones reminded me why I enjoy working with children. Being someone they felt comfortable with and could trust was one of the most meaningful parts of my experience.

Crystin B. - Seeking Work in Cortland

Full-Time Child Care Provider Available in Cortland, NY: Crystin B.

Hi! My name is Crystin and I am 24. I really enjoy working with children, especially younger ones as they teach me a lot too! I have a strong passion for taking care of kids and creating a safe, supportive, and fun environment where they can feel comfortable around be themselves and do a lot of hands on learning.

I am CPR and First Aid certified, so safety is always a priority for me. I have worked in a daycare as well where I have obtained many training skills such as lesson planning and found my passion working with children. In my free time, I love reading and relaxing with a good nap, and I enjoy sharing those quieter moments with kids just as much as the more energetic activities.

I believe in limited to no screen time and learning through play helps with the major developments of a child’s early years! I have been a nanny for a year in the past and taken little trips to the park or science center!
