"Carmen joined our family and right from the start embraced my family as if we’ve known her our whole lives. I’m a stay at home mom and she assisted me with daily tasks of drop offs and pick ups as well as helping with school work. She helped me with breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as laundry. She was on call on weekends for sports activities and took my younger two kids to the park if I was busy with the older kids and their activities. She would go above and beyond to be helpful. Unfortunately we moved cross country for a new job and housing is and has been difficult to find for a large family and even harder to find a place where we could house a live-in nanny. Carmen is truly one of a kind and will take a load off in any situation."

"Carmen is pretty much everything you could hope for in a nanny: Trustworthy - She repeatedly proved I could trust her with my son & home, putting me at ease. She has Impeccable work ethic, was always respectful, and earned my respect and then some. Every task Carmen does, she does with love, care and attention to detail that is 100% visible in the results. She made my "house" feel like a real home--the kind of home environment I was proud raise my son in, and invite guests over to. Carmen anticipated needs for us, our schedules and our home, taking action where appropriate but never overstepping boundaries or privacy which she always respected. She was diligent about respecting the privacy of past employers, only deepening my confidence in and estimation of her character. Hands down the best nanny I've hired. We hated losing her, but it made sense for both parties. Would hire her again in a second! Happy to recommend and discuss her further over the phone. She's earned my reference!"

"We are first time parents with a 20-month old. Our son’s daycare was closed for Spring Break and we needed help for the week. We were nervous about having a non-family member care for our little one, but Carmen made us feel very comfortable. Carmen was able to tune in right away to the needs of our son and put him at ease. You could tell that she had a lot of experience and knowledge of working with children. Carmen also helped us with laundry, dishes, and cooking which we really appreciated. Carmen was professional, calm, flexible and responsible. We can’t thank Carmen enough for the high quality of care she provided for our son. We definitely will hire Carmen again in the future."

"Carmen is cheerful, intelligent, and creative. She excels at engaging children in imaginative play and possesses tangible sensitivity and gentleness.
She is great about sending real time photos and updates when she is watching the kids.
She’s also very helpful around the house, pitching in with chores (laundry, dishes, general clean up and even taking the dogs out for walks).
She’s a gem!"

"Carmen is a wonderful person and she amazed us by how well she took care of our 14m son. It was our first time leaving the baby alone with someone outside the family for a date night and of course we were terrified but she was a great choice. Baby loved to play with Carmen and even did not notice when we left home. She fed the baby, cleaned after eating, changed his diaper and cleaned his toys after the play. She sent us pictures during her stay. We will be happy to hire her again for a date night"

"Carmen is great with both kids and dogs. She sent photos daily and kept me in the loop as to what the kids were up to which made my time away from them fly by and put my mind at ease.
Carmen is a big help and has made traveling for work less stressful now that I know all my babies are in good hands."

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I am very creative when it comes to playing with children. Here are some of my favorite activities:
.
CREATIVE & EDUCATIONAL:
Journalism, treasure hunts, "grocery shopping," career role-play, gardening, and baking. I love activities that naturally support speech, reading, and spelling development.
.
TRADITIONAL & INTERACTIVE:
Hide-and-seek, Barbies, drawing, origami, and games like Santorini, Monopoly, or Uno. I also enjoy building "forts" with bedsheets or creating playhouses out of cardboard boxes for imaginative play.

The most important part about being a nanny...
I value flexibility. I believe a true childcare professional should be as gentle, hands-on, and multitasking as the family needs. :)
My experience with special needs children...
I have professional experience as both a Teacher and Nanny working with special needs, including ASD, ADHD, and non-verbal/Deaf children.
.
While I am not a behavioral specialist, my degree in Early Childhood Education includes a strong emphasis on Special Education. I also have personal experience through family and friends with autism, which gives me a deeper, more empathetic understanding.
.
I have experience supporting children with speech delays and ASD. While my academic background provides a good foundation, I believe every individual with atypical development is unique, and I love the hands-on learning that comes with each specific child.
