A little bit about me

Hello! I am a Sophomore in college, and I am the eldest of four children, the youngest of which is 10 years younger than me. I am currently studying Worship Arts online while being a stay-at-home wife in the Cloudcroft area. I serve on the worship team at our church, as well as volunteering at Aspendale Retreat Center where my husband is employed. I love to read, crochet, cook/bake, garden, and write music!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Growing up, I frequently babysat my younger siblings, one of which as autism, epilepsy, and a few other medical conditions. I have babysat/nannied for children of all ages, while also tutoring them, cleaning around the house, and meal prepping. A goal I have for whenever I babysit is to make memories with the kids that the will remember for a lifetime, and to love on and care for them as if they were my family. I have worked as a counselor with Royal Family Kids Camp, a ministry organization that provides the camp experience for foster and adopted kids while also showing them the love of Jesus and what healthy relationships look like.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love making up games with kids or playing some of their favorite games in order to form connections with them. A few activities I would do are hide and seek, freeze tag, bake with them (with parental permission before hand,) puppet shows, puzzles, read books, play in the dirt outside, build a fort, etc.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Is having a passions about taking care of the kids you are watching. Their safety is in our hands, and that is not something to be taken lightly. We also have the ability to make memories with them and love on them as if they were our own family, which I think is so healthy to be loved by someone outside of your family!

My experience with special needs children...

My youngest brother has autism and epilepsy, as well as some other neurological oddities that can make life a little more challenging. Growing up with him has given me a heart for children that are atypical, and has given me experience in teaching, coaching, and emotionally co-regulating with children who struggle more than others.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I don’t have a specific moment, but there was a sibling group I babysat for frequently, and almost every time there would be an instance where we were all laughing hysterically to the point where none of us could breathe. I couldn’t tell you what it was that made us so giggly, but hearing their laughter always brought joy to my heart!
