Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
Growing up, I volunteered in my church’s nursery often. My mom is a school teacher and I volunteer in her class every time I visit my parents. I’ve babysat for family members and neighbors since I was twelve. I worked as an aide in a kindergarten class for a year. In high school, I took a peer tutor classes multiple times.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy playing games, having conversations, watching movies, playing in the grass and going to parks, cooking and baking, and going on walks.
My experience with special needs children...
In the kindergarten class I worked with, there were a couple special needs students. I worked with a student with severe autism. He was a very sweet boy and I didn’t have any problems getting along with him and helping him with is school work.
I also worked with a girl who had a developmental struggle. She had gotten sick and spent her toddler years in the doctors office. She had a lot of energy, but I never struggled to keep up with her.
In high school, I took multiple peer tutor classes. In these classes, I helped students learn elementary level reading, science, and math. I enjoyed this class and took it every semester during my junior and senior years.
