More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Firstly, I have 2 children of my own.
I moved into home based development/care because it is a better fit and very similar pay.
In scouts, under supervision and without problem, I was responsible for the safety and education of around 12 boys. Activities included planning events/timelines, learning new skills, practicing those skills.
As a teacher I was responsible for the advancement of a special group of kids. Between the beginning and end of the school year I helped bring about a 33% advancement in knowledge, skill and ability compared to their non special education peers. This was done through creative lesson planning, play and fun.
As a caretaker I am invaluable to you because I am that positive male influence that every child deserves more of! I am that 1% of this community that is seriously lacking in our society. I am not your entry level caretaker. I've got education, intuition, and experience with my children and those I was paid to care for.

Anything outside, reading, imaginative play, with enthusiasm helping them make discoveries!

The number one character trait has to be patience with yourself and them.

My experience with special needs children...

Beyond working with high functioning special ed. kids in the classroom I did care for a low functioning autistic 6yo boy. for 6 months.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The kids and I are building a fort with told me "you are the best manny (male nanny, lol) we have ever had". It makes me smile just thinking about that.
