My name is Eldana. I’m fluent in English and currently work at an international kindergarten in Almaty, where I teach music and dance in English. I also teach English online :)

I am willing to obtain a CPR and First Aid Certification if needed
I would love to become a part of the family as an Au Pair because I enjoy working with children (that's my main job!) and want to support their growth and creativity.

I've been working with children for 8 years now and have experience in working in private schools, kindergartens, and shelters for mothers and children. I've worked with children aged 1 to 16 (yes, teenagers too), teaching language, music, and art.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I've worked in private international elementary schools and private international kindergarten, taught and supervised children in multicultural environments. I have recommendation letters to provide if requested.
I have also worked (and still do) at refugee and charity centers, where I support children in refugee assistance programs.

I teach language lessons, music, art and performance activities.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy spending quality time with kids and finding activities that match their personality and their interests. I love doing creative things together - we do drawing, painting, music, singing, dancing, storytelling (a big thing for them!).

We also do quieter activities - like reading together or building/creating things, and just I listen to how they see the world around them.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I don't believe that childcare is a job someone should choose if they're uncomfortable around children or don't genuinely enjoy being around them. For me, the most important qualities in being a nanny are responsibility and honesty - both with yourself and with the child.

I think it’s important to truly enjoy spending time together, to be emotionally attentive, kind and supportive, while still being able to guide situations calmly. Children naturally tend to test boundaries, and I see it as the role of a nanny, and adults in general, to help them navigate life through communication, emotional awareness, trust and a sense of safety.

The most important part about being a nanny...

For almost 2 years, I’ve been taking care of a rather energetic, strong-willed boy named Oscar, who is now 3 years old. He has a strong personality and always likes doing things his own way. Over time though we built a special understanding through communication, humor and play. Even during hard moments, we usually find a way to talk about feelings and work through emotions together.

One day I asked him to pause his video so we could spend some time talking and playing instead. I try not to let children spend all their free time on phones. Oscar looked at me very calmly and - in almost exactly my own tone of voice - said that he's actually not interested in talking right now, and that he wants to finish his video. He suggested I should find something else to do if I'm THAT bored.

I find it hilarious. Kids are way smarter than we think.
