A little bit about me

I am looking for a 20-40 hr/wk Summer-only nanny position near Raleigh, NC. I have worked for several summers at a Christian daycare (K - Elementary) and have done babysitting for friends and family over the years. I have been CPR/First Aid/AED Certified.

I have also worked as a housekeeper, am very organized, and would be happy to help with cooking and cleaning. And I love pets!

I can certainly provide character references. My supervisor has said I have a very nurturing demeanor.

I am a devout Catholic and would love to work with a Christian family.

Outside of work, I love creative writing, music, and outdoor activities/working out.

More About Me

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love one-on-one time with kids, especially just spending time playing with them (whether it be playing games, coloring, reading books, or playing outside), showing them love and affection, and listening to understand when they are upset.

Music is also a passion of mine, so if your child is interested in music, I would love to help them practice their instrument or sing with them :)

The most important part about being a nanny...

I believe the most important thing about any childcare is making sure the kids know they are loved and understood. I want to be there for them, to listen and offer attention, affection, and understanding. While boundaries, rules, and schedules are certainly necessary, when possible we need to seek to understand their reason for acting up (whether it be that they’re hungry or upset about a situation) and help them respond to that, rather than only punishing the behavior.

For me, this was a frustration when I worked as a daycare/summer camp counselor, often the sole supervisor for a group of 8-10 or more kids, where I often didn't have the one-on-one time necessary to do much beyond ensuring safety and managing behavior. This is why I would love to be a nanny where I can spend this precious individual time with the kids.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite moment when I was working at daycare one summer: This sweet little preschooler I'd been spending time with, after he was called to be picked up by his parents, came running back into the room to give me a big hug and exclaim, "I love you, Ms. Emily!" :') It melted my heart.

Then there was the time when one of the elementary schoolers, the day after being scolded for acting up, comes running to me the next morning to squeeze me tight and wouldn't let me go.

Or the time when one of the kindergarteners, wise beyond her years, noticed my cross necklace and started asking about Jesus <3

Nadia H. - Seeking Work in Raleigh

Part-Time Child Care Provider Available in Raleigh, NC: Nadia H.

Hi! My name is Nadia Harris and I’m 18 years old with over 4 years of experience working with children from 6 months to 11 years old. I currently work in the nursery at my local church, caring for infants and toddlers in a safe and loving environment. I’ve also worked with kids of all ages at a Parks and Rec summer camp, leading fun activities and helping children grow through play and creativity. On top of that, I run my own babysitting business, which has given me the opportunity to work closely with families and build lasting connections.

Outside of childcare, I’m very involved in my school’s band program and proudly serve as the band captain. This fall, I’ll be heading to Elon University to major in Psychology, with hopes of continuing to work with children in the future.

I’m currently looking for a family to babysit for during the summer, and I’d love the opportunity to provide a safe, fun, and supportive environment for your little ones!
