More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I worked at a school on weekends teaching children how to use apparatus such as the balance beam, horse, etc.
I also brought my guitar and the children would sing along with me to a variety of songs such as Puff the Magic Dragon, If I Had a Hammer, and other favorite songs

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love books, In reading them, using varying character voices, intonation, and enthusiasm, children can't help but love them too. I often, if there is dialogue will say for example, What did the rabbit say?" So that the child will parrot back what was said. It has them participating in the story but also encourages their ability in public speaking.

My experience with special needs children...

I have been a speech therapist for over 20 years working with a wide variety of special needs clients. I am able to treat stuttering, autism, Downs Syndrome, receptive/expressive language delays, am familiar with some communication systems pecs, sign language etc.
