My experience with special needs children...
I have worked as a private nanny for a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder. This mostly consisted of ensuring routine and using regulation techniques frequently. Additionally, the child was prone to self injurious behaviors so safety was a big concern and priority.
I have also worked in the classroom with reading delays, ADHD and dysgraphia. My interest in college was executive dysfunction and neurodivergent disorder so I have a lot of knowledge of this as well.
I also have a genetic disorder called Phenylketonuria. As a result, I have extensive knowledge of this disorder and some knowledge about other genetic and metabolic disorders. This has cultivated a passion in me for helping children with both their medical and psychological well being. The holistic child!
