I discovered how rewarding childcare can be during my daycare internship in my senior year of high school. I worked hands-on with young children every day, helping with activities, playtime, learning tasks, and classroom routines. That experience taught me patience, creativity, and how to make every child feel safe, supported, and understood. I enjoyed it so much that it solidified my desire to keep working with kids in a meaningful way.
Outside of my internship, I also spend a lot of time caring for my 4-year-old nephew. I’ve helped with everything from meals and bedtime routines to crafts, games, and outdoor play. Watching him grow and being part of his daily life has made me very comfortable with childcare responsibilities and confident in handling the energy, curiosity, and needs of young children.
