"Jennifer is a family member who served as a live-in nanny for us for 5 months. She came to stay with us to help care for her father, and helped us with our 3 year old and baby. I cannot overstate how incredibly helpful she was. Jennifer bonded deeply with the kids and organized wholesome activities for them. She took the initiative to teach our toddler some basic manners and was patient and consistent with him, and it paid off! He still uses his manners and we credit it to Jennifer.
In addition to help with the day to day care, Jennifer helped us get more organized. She identified areas where we could streamline our day, organized our pantry and laundry system, and helped us sort through the large number of toys my kids have. While we put the kids to bed she tidied up downstairs. I cannot tell you how much this helped us relax.
I am possibly biased because she is family, but I loved having Jennifer’s help and would recommend her wholeheartedly."

More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
My son (34) is a nuclear engineer recently serving 12 years in the Navy and is now an electrical engineer for a large steel mill company.
My daughter (31) is personal assistant, esthetician and makeup artist.
My children are grown so I have “been there. Done that”. We have survived 3 heart attacks, an LVAD and heart transplant, multiple broken bones, one cult extraction and reprograming, a female teenager, bankruptcy, fire, and loss of business and income. I could write a book but would anyone believe me!?
Recently, while my father was in treatment for AML in Durham, I stayed with my brother and his wife. I helped with their two young boys (5 and 2) then 3 and 9 months. I often took midnight feeding or sleeping in the rocking chair when Tommy had a cold so Becky could get sleep. Becky encouraged me to apply to become a nanny.
I volunteered at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic School and Church since 1995.
I’ve been a chaperone, grade mom, college tutor, auction chair and Lector.

The most important part about being a nanny...
I believe it is most important to let a child grow to become whatever they wish to be, while teaching them, manners, discipline, kindness, and respect for others. I believe in teaching children to live the “golden rule” – treat others the way you wish to be treated.
My experience with special needs children...
I do not have experience with special needs children.
The most important part about being a nanny...
As an aunt to five nephews, and one niece, my heart is a joy when I see their smiling faces light up when I arrive, I’ll enter the room. Their giggles, laughter, and smiles are the most beautiful things in the world.
