My experience with special needs children...

While I don't have formal professional experience caring for children with special needs, I spent many years around my close friend's younger sister, who had Down syndrome. Spending years around her, I learned the importance of patience, understanding, and meeting each child where they are. It truly reiterated how important it is for every child deserves to feel safe, included, and supported.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite moments was receiving a handwritten note from the mom of a little girl in my daycare class. She thanked me for loving and caring for her daughter, making her feel safe, and creating an environment where she looked forward to coming each day. Knowing I made that kind of impact on both a child and their family is something I'll always cherish.
