My experience with special needs children...

I haven't really had much experience with special needs children except for when I was a nanny for a family of four and the oldest child has cerebral palsy.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite parts of being a nanny is building meaningful relationships and watching kids grow over time. It’s incredibly rewarding to be a steady presence in their lives.

A moment I’ll never forget was during my first year with a family whose youngest was just 5 months old. He was full of joy—always smiling, cuddling, and loved having his photo taken. One day, his mom sent me a video of him saying his first word—not “mama” or “dada,” but “Kenna.” It completely made my day and meant so much to me.

In my second year with the same family, the toddler had a new nanny, but every morning before he left, I got him ready and we’d cuddle until it was time to go. Those quiet, sweet moments reminded me how strong bonds can form through consistent, loving care.
