Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
In addition to babysitting my younger cousins during the summer, I mentored younger students throughout high school, helping guide and support them both in and out of the classroom. These experiences taught me how to communicate with children of different ages, stay patient, and be someone they can trust. I also enjoyed keeping them engaged through games, crafts, baking, and other fun activities while making sure they are safe and well cared for :)
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love doing arts and crafts with children, including coloring, painting, making slime, and creating with clay. I also enjoy going on walks, baking sweet treats together, making up stories while playing with their favorite toys. I also like coming up with fun games that encourage teamwork and make cleaning up feel exciting instead of feeling like a chore. For older kids, I’m happy to paint their nail and do their hair, play video games with them, go to the mall, binge some of their favorite shows, or join in on activities they already enjoy so they can have fun and feel comfortable.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I believe the most important part of being a babysitter is building trust with both the children and their parents as well!! Every family is different, so I think it’s important to listen, communicate, and respect each family’s routines and expectations. When children feel safe and comfortable and parents know their kids are in good hands it just creates a positive experience for everyone!! 😁💝
My experience with special needs children...
During my junior and senior years of high school, I had the opportunity to work closely with children with special needs in a school setting. I truly enjoyed getting to know each child, supporting them in ways that fit their individual needs, and helping them feel comfortable, included, and encouraged. It was actually such a rewarding experience and definitely strengthened my patience and understanding. It gave me the ability to learn how to create a positive and caring environment for them which made me very happy 🩷
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite babysitting moments was spending an afternoon baking cookies with my younger cousins. They loved helping measure ingredients and decorate the cookies, and seeing how excited and proud they were of what we made together was really special. I enjoy creating fun memories with kids and making everyday activities feel exciting and engaging. 💕
