Relevant experience where I also cared for children were…Most of my experience working with children has been in child care. I had child care experience for a couple of summers in 2017 and 2018 (the camp was K-6), but my first full time jobs in child care started in Sept. 2019. I am still currently employed at a preschool full-time, but I am looking to resign at some point (ages 1-5.)
I originally got my degrees to be a public school music teacher. My college experience included student teaching and practicum (which is like lower level student teaching). Practicum happened from [phone number hidden] (elementary age to middle school age), and student teaching happened in 2018 (high school age). My first public school teaching job lasted from [phone number hidden], and I was an elementary music teacher (K-6).
Activities I enjoy doing with children…I enjoy free play activities, activities that build fine motor skills, sensory play, singing and playing music, reading, and taking walks.
The most important part about being a nanny…Saying this as someone with no nannying experience yet... the safety and well-being of the child is the most important part of nannying.
My experience with special needs children…I have not worked as a special needs teacher before, but I have had students with special needs in my classroom before. Collaborating with the special needs teacher and adjusting my behavior support for special needs children proved to be helpful.
