Hello! My name is Kylene and I love being a nanny, especially working with the little ones! I live in Manteca and have a B.A. in Human Development (Early Childhood Option). I also have some graduate coursework completed (but not a degree) when I was recently studying for a M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology. I've got about 6 years of child care experience. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was a paraprofessional (regular education) for Manteca Unified School District for a little over a year, assisting in two kindergarten classrooms each day. I’ve also worked in the past as a site coordinator for two years at an after school tutoring program for Give Every Child A Chance, and have also done some private in-home tutoring.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Reading (I LOVE reading with kids!), singing, freeze dance, going to the park, going to the library, yoga, baking, puzzles, arts & crafts.

To me, the most important part about being a nanny is helping to foster healthy development in my charges as well as a positive, secure relationship between us.

My experience with special needs children...

I very briefly worked in the ABA field as a Behavioral Interventionist, providing therapy to children with autism.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I’ll never forget when one of my first nanny kids, who was 2 or 3 at the time, was going through the alphabet and naming things that start with each letter and when she got to k she happily exclaimed, “K is for KYLENE!” (My name.) I was surprised and happy that she knew that. That was about 5 years ago.

More recently my heart was warmed when I got a random text from a mom I used to work for with a sweet pic of my former nanny kid and a message letting me know that the little one still plays with this simple activity I made for her probably two years ago (I left the job 1.5 years ago) all the time! I am really so fond of the little things like that.
