A little bit about me

I am a caring, patient, and attentive nanny who enjoys playing, teaching, and outside time. I am trained in CPR/First Aid through the RedCross. I have experience working with school-aged children in an afterschool/summer daycare and dance program. I have experience working with students with disabilities in High School.
I am currently a student at the University of Northern Iowa working on a Music Education degree with a certificate in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. I am looking for a summer position primarily during weekdays.

My favorite activity is teaching and playing card games. I enjoy getting outside often for walks, chalk drawings, trips to the park, or water activities. I love Hands on crafting and STEM activities. I enjoy reading and developing literacy skills. I incorporate music into activities as often as possible and use music as an opportunity to encourage movement.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of being a nanny is being flexible, communicative, and warm. I think it is important to keep consistency in routines while also being flexible when things change. Communication between me and parents is important to know the needs of the child(ren).

My experience with special needs children...

I participated in a peer-partner P.E. class working with high school students. I adapted physical activities for students with limited motion. I also adapted communication to direct actions and visuals for students who are non-verbal or limited verbal.
