A little bit about me

Empty nesting is overrated. My 2 grown children live out of state, they hate cold weather and I miss being around and caring for kids. I work from home and for myself and have a lot of hours a week “free”. I grew up on Cape Cod, New Hampshire and all over California. I’ve lived and worked in Florida, Georgia and even Tokyo. I was the “fun mom”-didn’t miss carpool, sports practices, games, my daughter road horses, my son golfed and played baseball. I have been nannying for the last 2 summers in Maine for a family with kids ages 4 and 6. They call me the “Fun Nanny”. But their NY nanny now comes so I’m sad.

With my renovation company, I encourage people to get off their phones, computers and back on their property to enjoy wasting time with loved ones, especially kids.

I’m an OCD housecleaner. I love kids of all ages, even teens. I’m a skier and love the outdoors.

I have a Bernese Mountain Dog. I love animals.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have been a nanny in the summer in Maine since 2023 for a family with kids ages 2 and 5. They call me the “Fun Nanny”.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I encourage kids to get off their phones, computers, devices and OUTSIDE-for “naked feet time”- running in grass, on the beach, on their property, making forts, washing their cars, growing a garden, wasting time watching figures in the clouds. INSIDE-doing crafts, using Play Dough, coloring, playing board games, I have a “Camp Leianne basket I bring filled with old fashion musical instruments, dress up clothes, sports equipment. We will make/cook all of our meals together. I have aprons, kids LOVE to dress up like chefs. I have my kids do chores (laundry, sweeping/vacuuming). Kids LOVE learning, EVERYTHING can be a learning experience.

We’re all one email, text, post, tok, chat and gram away from a nervous breakdown. My goal is to NOT have your kids become this.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I’d love to work for a family whose focus is enjoying a work-life balance. I’d be honored to assist with the child care when their parents need to be away from them.

I don’t have specific experience but understand that every child is unique with their own needs, special needs or not. I’m
a patient but firm caregiver with my primary goal of keeping your child safe, healthy and stimulated for them not only to survive but to thrive.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My potty training 2 year old that I nanny for got up from her nap, I put her on the toilet (even though she was wet already) and I had her “try” to go poop. A wiff of “air” came out of her bottom and she said unprovoked by me, “My butt is thinking.” From the mouths of babes!
