A little bit about me

I have been passionately working with kids most my life, babysitting for family friends by the time I was 7 years old, taking a babysitting course for infants and toddlers through the Seattle Children's hospital when I was 12, and nannying infants -Toddlers fulltime for the last 4 years! I absolutely love working with Kids and helping them safely learn the amazing and complicated world around them! On my free time I love to be outdoors, do arts and crafts, practice yoga, dance, be around friends and family, meal prep, and listen/create music! Some of my biggest values include authenticity, open communication, creativity, compassion, family, healthy relationships, kindness, nature, reliability, respect, teamwork, trust, and understanding.

Christine
"Lily is the most wonderful nanny. She was with us for a year and became part of our family. She was so attentive with our daughter and would play with her all day. She cared for our daughter from the time she was just under 3 months to almost 15 months. She is so loving and caring I knew when we interviewed her that if I couldn’t be with my daughter I would want her to care for her. On top of being amazing with our daughter she would do dishes, clean, vacuum, and help prepare meals. She is a self starter and has a talent for organizing. She helped me many times with organizing baby clothes and other items to take that stress off my plate. I would have kept her forever if I could."

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have been babysitting with the assistance of my mother from the age of seven-eleven. By age twelve I took a babysitter course through the Seattle childrens hospital and began babysitting family friends young children independently. For two years in highschool, I worked for the summer bike camp Pedalheads, where I taught children in both a group setting and privately one on one, ages 2-12, how to ride a bike! Starting in November 2019, I became a full-time nanny/house manager. I have now worked with four different families, each for around the first full year of their child's life before the parents felt comfortable to send their child to daycare. I have worked with both new and experienced parents and am comfortable with pets in the home as well as utilize my former work as a professional house cleaner to help tidy and organize the home.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

When its sunny outside I love taking kids to play at a playground or grab some chalk to make beautiful art pieces for the neighborhood! I also love to go out with the kids, lay out a picnic blanket and explore the many exciting textures and colors found throughout nature! Indoor activities I love to do with kids includes playing board games, play make believe, arts and crafts, build (and put away) blanket forts, block towers, and read stories! Finding fun hand-eye coordination games such as stacking and fitting one thing into another, or playing ball are also great indoor and outdoor activities for kids of all ages! I also love to create music and will often bring my ukulele over to share in instrumental music discovery!

The most important part about being a nanny...

is being a positive impact on a child's most precious years and memories and lessening as much stress as possible in the household by taking on household responsibilities and helping out wherever needed.

My experience with special needs children...

In middle school I was a teachers assistant for the gyms special Ed class. I encouraged the kids to keep moving and made exercise fun for them! I worked with a group of around 8 kids, all with different needs.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moments are when the bond the child and I make become visually clear. This is usually seen by the baby asking to be held by me when I enter the room, baby kisses, and just overall excitement when I enter the house in the morning.
