A little bit about me

I come from a large family and growing up I cooked, cleaned and cared for my three younger siblings. I often helped with homework and other needs. I successfully raised my son and took a natural approach from the start of conception. I never took any medications, I breastfed my son and had a natural birth. I taught my son to read, write and a little sign language. I am a huge advocate of reading and learning. I worked in the medical and dental field to provide for him. I worked as a nanny for 2 girls (newborn/5 year old and I brought my son (age 9 at the time) along. I also provided caregiving for the live in grandmother) for 5 years. I cooked all meals, housework, school/activities drop off/pick up, medication for grandma Ross, assisted with shopping & appointments. I have my professional level CPR/First Aid certification and I love animals. I am currently an empty nester (my son is in college) and I would love to care for your child/children & fur babies if you have any.

Michelle Ross
"She was always very reliable and compassionate. She exhibited a positive attitude and was very caring and nurturing to all that she cared for. She was extremely great at multitasking, she cared for not only my newborn and 5-year-old child but also my grandmother who was living with us and needed assistance due to her having dementia. She did housecleaning, grocery shopping, dropping off/picking up my child at school, taking my grandmother to the doctor, planned and prepared meals, and also helped with homework. I would highly recommend her to any family looking for assistance."

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I worked in the medical/dental field often assisting with children. I have a calming demeanor and I have always had a natural way with children and people in general. I am active, fun and I would love to accommodate your parenting style so that you can feel comfortable and supported.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love teaching and reading. It’s always a great time to go outside and enjoy Florida’s beautiful weather. Trips to the beach, the many surrounding parks, fishing, riding bikes, and cooking can be so much fun to do. I also enjoy visiting museums, environmental centers, and the preserves. Of course any activities would be age appropriate and discussed with you before any outing was planned.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Is understanding that every child is unique and what works for one child in regards to learning, listening, communicating, and playing will not always work with another so it’s important to listen to them and learn from each child so that you can help them, encourage them and inspire them to flourish. It is also very important to talk with the parents too so that you have an understanding on what their parenting styles are and make sure that you follow their parenting plan.

My experience with special needs children...

I volunteered at my sons elementary school helping out with special needs children. I also was an assistant for the special needs class when I was in high school.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I loved caring for the Ross girls and one of my favorite nanny moments was high/low. We used to talk about our favorite “highlight” of the day also the “low” of the day. It gives you an opportunity to communicate and learn about that child on what they like and don’t like. It gives them the opportunity to think and learn about themselves and it is a great opportunity to mentor them. The low isn’t necessarily a bad thing just the thing that wasn’t the greatest that day and the high is always the best thing they thought happened that day.

Babysitter Available in Port St. Lucie, FL: Linda M.

Hi! I’m an adult college student with a professional background in hospitality and event coordination. Years ago I cared for my nieces and nephew from infancy through toddlerhood, and I’ve always been very comfortable with babies and children. I raised a stepson from age nine, and had a special needs stepdaughter.
I’m dependable, patient, calm under pressure, and genuinely enjoy helping others feel safe and cared for. My work background has taught me how to multitask, communicate well, and stay organized in busy environments.
I’m currently looking for a weekday position that fits well with my schedule, and I would love the opportunity to support a family that values reliability, kindness, and attentive care. I’m also current on my Tdap/whooping cough vaccine.
