The most important part about being a nanny...
Is to make the child feel special, loved, heard, understood and supported. In order for children to express themselves naturally, they need the proper environment. It is my honor to provide that for them!!
My experience with special needs children...
I was a nanny for a toddler who had special needs. She was in the process of being diagnosed with a specific type of special needs. I nannied her for 3 years. I attended speech therapy and gymnastics class with her. I also shadowed her in preschool because she had difficulty with her balance. She still had the needs of a typical child: love, patience and understanding.
I was a substitute special needs para at an elementary school. I attended to children of various diagnoses, including ASD, ADHD, and non-verbal children.
I also have a great-niece in my household who is on the Autism spectrum. She is in elementary school.

My funny nanny moment was when my three nanny boys asked me to marry their visiting uncle, who was single, so that we could be related! Um,no…. 😁
