The most important part about being a nanny...
What matters most to me as a nanny is making sure children feel safe, seen, and cared for. I still clearly remember having a babysitter growing up who was always on her phone during bedtime and didn’t comfort my little sister when she was upset. Even as a kid, I remember thinking how wrong that felt. That experience stayed with me and shaped the kind of caregiver I want to be. I never want a child to feel ignored or like they are an inconvenience. Whether I’m helping with bedtime, reading a story, making dinner, or just sitting with a child through a hard moment, I want them to feel like they have my full attention and that their feelings matter.
My experience with special needs children...
I am enthusiastic about the opportunity to work with children, including those with special needs. While I do not yet have direct experience in this area, I am highly open to learning and committed to providing compassionate, attentive support. I am eager to develop the skills necessary to assist and engage children with diverse abilities, and I am ready to take on any required training to ensure I can contribute positively to their growth and well-being.
The most important part about being a nanny...
When kids prefer to be with you instead of their parents or get excited to see you, it usually means they feel comfortable, safe, and happy in your presence. Children are drawn to people who make them feel understood, loved, and entertained. This kind of reaction often reflects a strong bond and trust—they associate you with positive experiences, fun activities, or emotional comfort.
It can also indicate that you have a natural ability to connect with children. Maybe you listen to them attentively, engage in their favorite games, or show patience and kindness. These responses are signs that you’re a trusted figure in their lives, and they enjoy the sense of attention and joy that comes from being with you.
