Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
My overarching career goal is to become a teacher so much of my experience has been involved in teaching. I was a summer camp teacher at BADM in Sausalito for ages 4-6 from June to August of 2019 and I am currently a Pod teacher for 3 girls in 3rd grade (Sept 2020-current). I also have experience in swim lessons (June 2012-August 2016 summers).
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I am often told that I have quite the imagination and I love to share that with my students. Depending on the children’s ages, indoors I love to build forts, do science experiments, art projects, create plays and musicals etc. with whatever supplies we have available. I love to see the mind at work, especially when it’s make-believe. As for outdoor activities, I love to get in some movement. Bike rides, hikes, outdoor exploration activities to zoos and/or museums, a trip to the park, soccer, basketball, pool time, you name it!
The most important part about being a nanny...
My most recent favorite nanny moment was with my three girls currently, ages 9, and building a fort. As we built the gigantic structure each of the girls wanted their own ‘room’ on the inside. I helped them construct walls using pillows, chairs, cardboard, whatever we had lying around that could work. As I was doing this they secretly made me my own room as well, as a place for me to “escape and relax” according to them. It was sweet and a lovely time with the girls that day. We finished it off with some snacks and a Disney movie in the family room of the fort.
