More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

In addition to my professional experience, I bring a lifelong, hands-on understanding of caring for children. As the oldest of six siblings, I naturally took on a nurturing and supportive role from a young age and was actively involved in helping raise my five younger siblings. This included assisting with daily routines, homework, play, and emotional support, which taught me responsibility, patience, and adaptability early on. During high school, I also volunteered in a first-grade classroom, where I supported the teacher with small-group activities, classroom organization, and one-on-one assistance for students. This experience further strengthened my ability to engage with children in a structured learning environment and reinforced my passion for working with kids. These early experiences laid the foundation for the educator and caregiver I am today.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

As a former preschool teacher and current full-time nanny, I am experienced in planning age-appropriate art, craft, and sensory activities for children. I also really enjoy cooking and baking with kids, and my previous classrooms loved being involved in the kitchen. We made fun items such as apple nachos, Rice Krispie treats, strawberry smoothies, and more. I enjoy planning at least one age-appropriate science experiment and love creating engaging indoor and outdoor activities that support curiosity-driven exploration. In the past, my co-teacher and I have taken children sledding, incorporated water and mud play, and prioritized outdoor time and sunshine whenever the weather permits.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of being a nanny to me is being a trusted, safe adult that children can turn to. I strive to create an environment where kids feel comfortable expressing themselves, sharing their thoughts, and telling stories about whatever is on their minds. I genuinely enjoy listening to them and engaging in meaningful conversations. I take pride in helping raise children who are kind, polite, and compassionate. It’s important to me that children are able to be kids for as long as possible, while also learning empathy, emotional awareness, and respect for others. Rather than focusing solely on milestones or achievements, I value supporting children as they grow into thoughtful, self-regulated, and caring human beings. My goal is to nurture children who feel secure, confident, and continue to grow into sweet, compassionate people.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite recent nanny moments happened over Thanksgiving weekend when my employer texted me to share that her son had repeatedly asked to call me over 50 times to wish me a happy birthday, even though it wasn’t actually my birthday. It was such a funny and heartwarming moment, and I could easily picture his excitement and enthusiasm as he insisted on calling.

What made the experience especially meaningful was my employer’s message expressing gratitude for the positive impact I’ve had on her son’s life. Moments like these remind me how important strong, trusting relationships are in nannying, and how meaningful it is to be a consistent, caring presence in a child’s world.

I also occasionally picked up other babysitting/pet-care jobs around my neighborhood. I have always loved working with kids and am a pre-nursing major with hopes of becoming a pediatric nurse. I volunteer at the Ronald Mcdonald House as well as the Children's Cancer Center here in Tampa. This year I do not have a car on campus, so I am looking for jobs within walking distance.
