A little bit about me

I have been caring for children professionally for 30+ years with the last 8.5 as a private nanny for 3 families. I was with the first family for 7 years (since the oldest was 5 months old) and have been with the current two families for 1.5 years in a nanny share, Those 5 children are newborn-4years old. I truly love working with young children and enjoy watching them grow and explore the world around them.
I feel that any experience can be a learning experience....especially if it's fun. I love to take them on adventures as well as stay home and read, sing, dance, do art projects or just snuggle.
With each family, I have helped with pet care, laundry, meal prep and errands such as grocery shopping or taking the children to appointments or extra activities. I honestly enjoy helping families any way I can.
If you would like more information, please feel free to reach out and I will return your message as soon as possible. Sincerely, Pam

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have worked in the child care industry for over 30 years. I was a teacher at Children's World Learning Center, Forest Hill Presbyterian Church Child Care Center, Child Time Learning Center and VCU Family Center

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I am a very hands on teacher. I love to teach through art activities, snuggling and reading books, going for walks and exploring our world and singing fun songs. I also love to take the children on outings to the grocery store because there are so many things a child can learn just by getting groceries (such as colors, letters and socialization skills).

The most important part about being a nanny...

I feel that the most important part of being a nanny is being part of a team with the parents to help them raise kind, smart, responsible little individuals while helping the children thrive in the world. To let the children grow and have fun while discovering their world.

My experience with special needs children...

One of the children I have nannied for is on the autism spectrum. I have been with him since he was 5 months old and have learned what works best for him to be the most productive person possible. It's amazing to watch him thrive.

Another that I am currently with is ADHD and is also on a specific diet. He is so sweet and so eager to please and be a helper. I assist his parents by taking him to special appointments as needed.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moments are when the children run to me in the morning shouting "Ms. Pam" when I arrive and I'm greeted with a big hug. It makes my heart happy to hear the parents say that the children talk about me over the weekend and are always asking when I will be back.
