Relevant experience where I also cared for children were…Volunteer work in Montessori childcare, part-time babysitting, nanny for multiple years, summer camp counselor with various age groups.
Activities I enjoy doing with children…Puzzles, Library events and reading time, any and all crafts they are interested in, singing and learning new song lyrics with the kids! Any time spent outside or on a stroll.
The most important part about being a nanny…I feel that consistency has made my work joyful for the individuals I work with and myself. Reliability is invaluable for personal connection in childcare and education. There are so many instances I am proud of in my past that I demonstrated this, and I feel confident that I have an array of leadership and communication skills that give me many more methods of providing reliable care.
My experience with special needs children…I have some limited experience with special needs children in group settings. I have only worked with a child with special needs in a group setting during volunteer at school programs and during my time as a camp counselor. I would be happy to learn more about the specific preferences and needs of any child in a one-on-on basis with a family.
My favorite nanny moment…Picking the kids up from school is always a really sweet moment for me. I really enjoyed getting to share that excitement with them when we see each other after school.
