A little bit about me

Hello! My name is Rreze, like Reese's but with a Z :)

I am a recent Health Science graduate from Northeastern University in Boston. I am planning to attend PA school at the end of 2022 and am looking to be a nanny until then. I love children and have various childcare experiences from babysitting for the same children for years to being a part of Bundle Babysitting where I would fill in shifts for families who were working/their typical babysitter was out sick.

I have been an EMT-B since 2018 and due to the nature of my professional goals have multiple health care experiences. Along with working as an EMT, I have also worked at 2 hospitals as a CNA including Tufts Hospital. I believe these experiences are important and include many transferable skills such as quick thinking, empathy, and patience.

I enjoy filling my time with growth oriented activities such as physical activity, volunteering, and being outside. You can also find me trying new vegetarian recipes weekly!

- Tutor for Tutors for All at MGH site (middle school + high school aged children)
- Bundle Babysitting - platform which connected per-diem nannies with families whose permanent nanny was unable to care for their children

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy participating in interactive and fun activities! If it is a nice day I am always outside either at the park or in the yard. I love finding little events such as going to a petting farm and ice cream after or going on a bike ride with a picnic.

If it is cold or raining, I either venture out to the library with the child or I find home activities to stay busy. The library is a great resource as it allows the child to socialize with other children (pre-covid times). I also think its a great chance to involve the child with selecting books of their interest so they are more likely to want to read it at home. For fun activities at home, depending on the child's age, I think cooking or baking is a great way to get them excited about food/eating. I provide them with age-appropriate tasks & let them make choices such as which color pepper etc to give them a sense of autonomy. My other go to is a dance or singing party. I think moving your body is a great way to let out some energy!

The most important part about being a nanny...

I believe the most important part of being a nanny is fostering a warm, educational environment for the child/children to grow. I believe my role is to not only provide care but also model the behavior and mindset I hope the next generation will have. I want to ensure the children I care for are aware of others feelings, able to express their feelings and thoughts in a productive manner, and have an environment conducive to exploring themselves and any interests they may have.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment I had with my child was when the child I was taking care of started identifying various parts of her body from the books we had been reading almost daily! We had been reading these lift-the flap books and I had just gotten her one titled "Where is Baby's Belly Button" and one morning as I was reading the book to her, she lifted her shirt and pointed to her belly button with a silly grin on her face. It was a very sweet and funny moment I still cherish.
