Being supportive and encouraging. It's important that kids know you are there for them and supportive of their interests, struggles, and feelings. And with each hurdle they overcome, they feel confident enough stand on their own two feet. That is delightful to witness in children.

My favorite moment with a kiddo while babysitting was drawing with a 7 year old after putting her younger sister to bed. Afterwards she would occasionally give me drawings as gifts. :)
