Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have 2 years of relevant hands on educational experience via a joint vocational school in a Head Start classroom setting. While learning curriculum related to childhood education, I was in the classrooms teaching children ages 6 weeks through 5 years of age with lesson plans I created myself. This past year, I have held several jobs as both a consistent nanny and an on call babysitter, where I either provided care for children on a consistent basis while parents were at work, or families would reach out to me for date nights, emergency/last minute service, conflicting schedules, et cetera.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I primarily enjoy doing child-led play and activities and immersing myself in their worlds. I like to keep things spontaneous yet somehow educational. I also enjoy going on walks and walking to parks, libraries, swimming pools, and other fun outdoor activities. One winter, I even took the children I was a nanny for sledding!
My experience with special needs children...
I have cared for several children on the autistic spectrum. I also have limited experience with speech delay/nonverbal - I once cared for a 4 year old girl who was nonverbal, but communicated with facial and hand expressions. I have also cared once for an 8 year old girl with a number of disabilities, including cerebral palsy and autism.
