Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I am a former daycare and preschool assistant teacher. That is actually how I heard my calling in life! The daycare was located in North Quincy.
I also help out teaching religious education at my church as time allows!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I really enjoy outings with my nanny kids and aim for at least one every day! They could be simple like nature walks, spending a day at a playground or checking out local libraries...all the way to more complex like trips to local farms, aquariums, museums, etc. I find my natural way of getting out every day often compliments families and their busy work schedules - sometimes mom and dad just need or want to be home during their time off of work - sort of a win/win for kiddos that get plenty of on the go learning time with Val and plenty of home time with mom/dad!
The most important part about being a nanny...
I feel very honored and blessed to be given the responsibility of working so closely with families. I do not take it lightly. I know that finding a great fit for your family is no easy feat and I'm so grateful to all of the families that have selected me!
My experience with special needs children...
I have worked with nanny kids with asthma, having to give regular breathing treatments.
I've worked with a few children considered on the Autism spectrum, though my experience here is not vast.
I am also well-versed in ADHD.

The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment was when a family I had previously worked with asked me to move to France with them. What an honor!
On a comical note, one of my nanny kids, aged 6 at the time and completely incapable of sarcasm, out of the blue he asked me, "So, what was life like in the 1900s?" I felt like I should pull my covered wagon over and let him hop in the back to take him for a ride on the Oregon Trail. 😆
