Part-time Nanny, Ages of Children upon Hire: 12 months and 4.5 years old Provided part childcare to the 12-month-old boy born with an unidentified chromosome, having a developmental delay. Attended feeding therapy, floor time therapy, jump-start and speech therapy with the parents. Duties also included bath times, bed time prep, meal time prep, cleaning, taking the kids to the park, structured art time, play time and helping parents cope and adjust to the needs of their child. We met occasionally to discuss my ideas for intervention for both their 12 month old son and their 4.5 year old daughter; some of these interventions included suggesting emotional mindfulness training which includes teaching parents to allow their children to feel the emotions they are feeling, placing a name (language) to these emotions and helping children develop adaptive coping skills, I also helped them to monitor their reactions to the older child which included parents’ being aware of when they became upset and overwhelmed by their daughter’s behavior and instead of reacting right away, they would take a second to breathe and deal with their own emotions, and lastly I discussed implementing a behavioral momentum sticker chart, taking data on intrusive outbursts and professional expressive therapy. Experience also includes: Behavioral Therapist Provide one-to-one in home and school based therapy sessions to children with Autism, aged 1-10. Practice applied behavioral analysis teaching methods such as: Discrete Trial Teaching, Errorless Learning, Applied Verbal Behavior, Pivotal Response Training, Natural Environment Training and Incidental Teaching, to create meaningful behavioral, social and academic outcomes. Collect and record skill acquisition and behavioral data while communicating effectively with the clinical team regarding clients’ most intrusive behaviors. Attend weekly meetings to evaluate client progress and program updates. Also: Senior Counselor Camp It Up is a camp that provides an open, welcoming and loving summer experience for gay, lesbian and transgendered families and friends. I planned and directed recreational programs for thirteen campers, aged 7-9 years old. Along with another senior counselor, a junior counselor and a counselor in training, I formulated a schedule for the two weeks and ensured that our plans were appropriately timed, taking into account how long we will stay at each activity, and how long it would take us to get from one activity to the next. I also made sure to always have a back up plan or activity in mind in the event that our scheduled activity did not work out. Also, as a team we collaborated to make sure that we were selecting age appropriate activities and that these activities were fun and enjoyable for our kids group. At the end of camp we asked each camper to evaluate the counselors in an open and honest manner. Also: School Based Behavioral Therapist Implemented principles of applied behavioral analysis in one-to-one school based sessions to students with Autism, aged 3-10: formulated and employed behavioral plans, collected and recorded data, attended monthly clinics to evaluate student progress, employed various teaching strategies to effectively teach specific skills or modify behavioral excesses, including Reinforcement Procedures, Discrete Trial Teaching, Task Analyses, Picture Activity Schedules (PAS), Incidental Teaching and Behavioral Shaping; Designed program materials, data sheets and stimuli. Also: Camp Counselor and First Responder Planned and directed recreational programs for fifteen campers, aged 4-70 with multiple developmental disabilities including Pica, Autism, Down’s Syndrome, Bipolar Affective Disorder, Psychosis, Epilepsy and Schizophrenia, at a summer camp with no electricity and running water: administered medications, provided pre-hospital care for medical emergencies, educated counselors of campers’ conditions’, identified symptoms and documented incident reports. Assembled campfires to cook meals and provided physical care to assist in maintenance of campers’ daily activities. And much more direct childcare experience.

I recently worked at a day care facility in San Francisco. Daily tasks include preparing snacks(morning and afternoon) as well as breakfast and lunch. Making appropriate meals for children ages 2months to 4years. Regular diaper changes throughout the day and setting up the nap room. Some activities done with the children are outdoor playtime. This facility emphasized on much outdoor play in Stern Grove. We would take the children on walks through the park. Nature and nurturing was important. Infant experience, 4 babies at this facility, 6 months, 8 months and twins 7 months old. Previously worked for a family for 2.5 years position ending in February 2011. The children were ages 5 girl,6 boy and 11 boy at the time of my end date. I worked approximately 25-30 hours a week with more hours during school holiday break and summer breaks. During the school week. Duties included picking up children from school, assisting/checking with homework with all three children. Homework assistance ranging from basic math and reading to special class projects. I would prepare meals, requiring me to cook occasionally. The children were allowed some play time before bed, then I would supervise proper nightly hygiene and put children in rooms for bed. Saturday would be a full 8 hour day. I prepare meals for all the children breakfast and lunch, occasionally dinner but usually their mother would be home by their dinner time. The day consisted of a lot of interaction with the children, they were very active and imaginative children. We constantly played outdoors, the boys were into building forts and kickball which I always had to closely supervise for one their safety and also to make sure the little one (Ma Cayla) was treated fairly. Being a girl having other interests than the boys, Ma Cayla and I would sometimes play inside doing arts and crafts, I have a lot of crafts for the children that I would bring over. She was also into story writing, so she would write stories and I would help illustrate. I grew very close to this family, we built a very nice relationship together and cared for one another as family. In addition, I also care for two brothers ages 6 and 3 (the youngest was 6mnth when I started). I have been with this family for 2 years plus and I still sit for them on occasional date nights. I care for the boys in the evening so day meals are not required but I do prepare a healthy meal at dinner. The children are on a very strict schedule, when I arrive we have play time where we do various activities indoors, coloring, doing board games, puzzles or building blocks and Lego's. After dinner I may read several books before bed unless parents give permission to watch age appropriate movie, no television.

I have worked in childcare for many years. My last experience was for a family with three boys who I cared for two and a half years. During my time with them, their ages ranged from infant-5. I assisted with potty training, conflict management, school work/tutoring, cooking, cleaning, activity planning, rule and schedule enforcing. Prior to that experience, I worked as an assistant childcare specialist at the University of Texas's Child Development Center. I cared for children as young as 6 weeks up to 5 years depending upon the center's needs. I have also provided childcare services for three other families.

I have 10 years of experience working with children. I have been working as a nanny for the last two years. In that time I primarily worked with two families. The first had two girls ages 2 and 4 while I was with them. The second was with a newborn and a developmentally delayed 3 year old. I worked as a teacher's assistant for 4 years at a preschool serving children ages 2 though 7. Prior to moving to California, I worked with children ages birth through 19 as a social worker. In the past I also volunteered as a Sunday School teacher for 3 and 4 year olds for over 6 years. In that time I also assisted with other church activities involving children age 5 through 18, so I am comfortable working with older children as well. I have experience babysitting for families of two children ages 2 though 8.
