I have two children of my own and have many experiences working with children. I have a BFA in Art education and have had the experience of working with many age groups being certified to teach pre-k through 12. I have been a substitute teacher for about two years and prior to that was a lead pre-K teacher in a child care facility. I absolutely love being around young children....they bring you to life!

At the age of 16, I started working in Newtown, PA at a School. I was responsible for the pre-school aged children and helped them with homework-related tasks, preparing their snacks, crafts, and outdoor activities. I also baby sat for my nephew since he was 5 years old. He is now 11, and I was and still am responsible for guiding him through his homework, preparing his meals, disciplining him, taking him to and from school, and organizing his daily routine throughout previous summers. I also baby sat for an infant for roughly a year before I left for school. I fed her, burped her, and put her to bed. Finally, I baby sat a 2 year old girl and a 5 year old boy for about 2 years. I would help them to learn different concepts; for example, the alphabet, shapes, and colors. I also would prepare their meals and put them to bed at a certain time each evening.

Ever since I can remember I have been caring for children. I have grown up with two younger brothers and was always asked to keep an eye on them, or babysit them. When I was about 13 I started caring for a family of four boys ranging from the ages of 5 months - 12 years. This family was fond of me and decided they wanted to bring me on their vacation to the Outerbanks with them to care for their children, and about ten others (there were five familes). Sadly enough, the oldest son eventually reached the age where he could care for his brothers himself, although I still see them from time to time. My next venture into the world of childcare was an opportunity given to me from my hairdresser. She had a baby boy in January of 2008 and needed someone to care for him while she worked three days a week at the hair salon. I watched Kylen from 7:30-6:00 every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from the time he was 4 months old until he was about 7 months. From then on, he has been staying over each Friday night and spending Saturday with me while his mom works. Getting to watch him grow up from an infant to a very rambunctious and wonderfully bright young person has been such an amazing experience. I stopped caring for Kylen on a regular basis because I went on to embark on the adventure of my first real nannying job. I decided I wanted a full-time nannying job and I count my blessings every day that I ended up to be with this family for so long. There are two boys, ages 8 and 11. I cared for them for the past five years. I did everything from waking them up, getting them breakfast and on the school bus to picking them up from school, doing homework and taking them to their activities. I also stayed with them any day that they had off from school and I spent a lot of time staying over at the house when their mother was traveling on business. My five years with Nicholas and Justin were just absolutely incredible. I learned so much through caring for them. I resigned from my position this past June to begin another venture in my life, New York City! Caring for children is a beautiful lesson in patience, and I am so grateful to have had so many lessons over the years because they have helped me become a better person.

I graduated from the Temple University School of Education Summa Cum Laude in the spring of 2007. I have my dual Pennsylvania Certification in Elementary and Early Childhood Education. I have spent most of the last ten years babysitting and working with younger cousins, ages newborn through 10, anywhere from one to five children. As a student, I worked for five years at a Childcare Center; primarily in the Kindergarten room but also spent time with all ages from infant-4s. Post graduation, I worked as an assistant for one year while also nannying after school for two girls, ages 8 and 12. I assisted them with their school work, drove them to various activities and helped out wherever else possible. Now I am substituting in local school districts in hopes of landing a full time teaching position somwhere in Bucks County. I have taught in various schools in grades Kindergarten through 6th. I have full FBI, Pennsylvania, and Child Abuse clearances, as well as TB screening and updated physical, and any other paperwork required of local school districts. These documents will be made available upon request. Thank you for reviewing my information!
