A little bit about me
ON DISCIPLINE:
I believe we sould discuss and explain behavioral issues with children. How will they learn unless we teach them? Additionally consequences should relate to the behavior. For example, taking responsibility and cleaning up a mess that the child made.
ON SPANKING:
Simply put, why should I ever teach a child that its okay for anyone to hit them? Even if they are being agressive towards me or another child, why would I teach them not to hit by hitting?
ON BODY AUTONOMY:
Children are in charge of their own bodies. I will never force or guilt a child into sitting on my lap, giving me a hug, or even a high five. This includes going as far as not frowning and saying, "aww," when a child does not want a hug. I smile, say, "thats okay!" and move on.
