A little bit about me…

Hello, I’m Andrea! I just moved back to Johnstown after being in Oregon for 2 years. While in Oregon I was a full time nanny for a wonderful family, I started working for them when the child was one and was with them until she turned three. I also occasionally watch my nephew. I started watching him when he was around 3 months old and now he’s 5; they do grow up so fast 🥲. Since being back in Colorado I have received 46 hours worth of training through Colorado shines, and I am a level 2 out of 3. I am CPR certified, and I would also join my mom in her housekeeping job so I would gladly help with light housekeeping if you need it:). I’m currently working at a daycare, but I’d love to cut back and go back to working for a family as it feels like i can connect more to parents and the child. I love kids and I would love to get an opportunity to get to know you! Thank you for your consideration!

A little bit about me…

Hi! Im Victoria, I am 18 years old. I’ve babysat for my aunt throughout my little cousins life, although I don’t have professional experience
I always enjoy taking care of my cousin so I thought I’d try to find a job that I love doing and have done before. I’m very patient, caring, fun, and Im eager to have an opportunity of being a nanny/babysitter. I would like to have kids of my own someday but in the meantime I would love to help any parents that might need an extra hand. I wouldn't mind helping out around the house. Im also comfortable with any pets.

Understand Nanny Responsibilities in Johnstown, CO

Before beginning the search for a nanny, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a nanny is the right choice for your child care needs. In hiring a nanny, first, you should think through what responsibilities you expect your nanny to handle. With that information, you can create a profile so that nannies can reach out to you. The boundaries for nannies duties vary from family to family. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example, housekeeping or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your nanny before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location can impact how much you should pay your nanny.

Johnstown Nanny Interviews

Once you start connecting with prospective nannies, the next step is a nanny interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some nanny interview questions to consider asking:

  • Do you have experience being a nanny?
  • How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?
  • What sort of household tasks are you open to doing?
  • Are you open to a live in arrangement in Johnstown? Do you have experience being a live in nanny?
  • Are you open to being a nanny in a nanny share?
  • Do you have any references?
  • Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Johnstown?
  • Do you have a driver’s license in CO? Do you own a car?
  • What salary are you seeking? Are you open to being paid through direct-deposit, pay stubs?
  • What are your expectations around over-time pay and vacation time?

During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references, and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a prospective nanny, it’s essential to make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your nanny. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around nanny responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming! And of course, as you learn how to hire a nanny, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.

Daycare vs. Hiring a Nanny

Choosing between putting your child in daycare and hiring a nanny can be a tough decision. While nannies are often more expensive, they provide individualized attention and flexibility. Daycares, on the other hand, prioritize socialization. Our Nanny vs Daycare guide can help you determine what's best for your family.
