A little bit about me
My name is Laurie and I am a retired RN with my BSN.
Prior to my nursing career I have extensive experience caring for infants, toddlers and elementary school aged children.
I began babysitting at the age of twelve and continued part- time while in college. I found taking care of infants and toddlers to be especially rewarding. Now, coming full circle, I want to return to childcare.
I want to learn your parenting style so that I can provide consistency and work seamlessly with your family.
I have good communication skills and my co-workers describe me as easygoing, compassionate, reliable and trustworthy.
I am fully vaccinated including RSV. I’m certified by the American Red Cross in Advanced Child Care as well as BLS/CPR through the American Heart Association.
I am a pet owner myself so I’m comfortable working with a family with pets.

A little bit about me
My current position as a PCA for an individual with Rett syndrome is coming to an end as she will soon be entering an adult day program.
I have also worked as a Registered Behavior Technician with children ages 2 to 6 who have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
I owned and operated a home daycare. Our classroom was a multi-age environment with up to six children at a time. I facilitated a fun, loving day of activities Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
While in college, I was a student trainee in psychiatric unit at Boston Children’s Hospital. This provided me with the skills to work with vulnerable populations, de-escalate challenging situations quickly, and keep children safe while still creating a fun and nurturing environment.
I look forward to speaking with you!

A little bit about me
Most of my experience is with birth to 4 years old. All of my jobs have included infants. I have had experience with twins. I’m CPR certified/First Aid.
My vaccines are current as of July 2022.
I live with my husband and 1 dog on the south shore. We love to travel, visit family, go antiquing in our down time.
We have nieces and nephews who we are very involved with.
All through high school, I babysat so I've always loved being around children. I even volunteered in the daycare center in my high school. Through that daycare is where I found the first opportunity to nanny. My first nanny job was for 2 little girls. It was only a 10 month job but I thought I'd try it out to see if I would like being a nanny full time. Here I am over 20 years later

Understand Nanny Responsibilities in Hanover, MA
Before beginning the search for a nanny, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a nanny is the right choice for your child care needs. In hiring a nanny, first, you should think through what responsibilities you expect your nanny to handle. With that information, you can create a profile so that nannies can reach out to you. The boundaries for nannies duties vary from family to family. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example, housekeeping or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your nanny before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location can impact how much you should pay your nanny.
Hanover Nanny Interviews
Once you start connecting with prospective nannies, the next step is a nanny interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some nanny interview questions to consider asking:
- Do you have experience being a nanny?
- How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?
- What sort of household tasks are you open to doing?
- Are you open to a live in arrangement in Hanover? Do you have experience being a live in nanny?
- Are you open to being a nanny in a nanny share?
- Do you have any references?
- Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Hanover?
- Do you have a driver’s license in MA? Do you own a car?
- What salary are you seeking? Are you open to being paid through direct-deposit, pay stubs?
- What are your expectations around over-time pay and vacation time?
During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references, and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a prospective nanny, it’s essential to make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your nanny. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around nanny responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming! And of course, as you learn how to hire a nanny, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.
Daycare vs. Hiring a Nanny
Choosing between putting your child in daycare and hiring a nanny can be a tough decision. While nannies are often more expensive, they provide individualized attention and flexibility. Daycares, on the other hand, prioritize socialization. Our Nanny vs Daycare guide can help you determine what's best for your family.
