A little bit about me
Since I’ve graduated high school in June of 2020, I have been in the workforce. My experience ranges from working as a mentor with children, to working as a superintendent of an apartment building and everything in between.
I’ve always been passionate about taking care of and helping children. Becoming an aunt at a young age has definitely played a huge role in this.
I love outdoor adventures with my daughter and seeing + learning new things!

A little bit about me
My name is Bella and I am looking for either a part-time or full-time nanny job for the summer and potentially longer based on need!
I am 22, just graduated from Michigan State, and spent three years working in childcare in East Lansing and many more babysitting while growing up!
I worked at Appletree daycare where I had to get my CPR/AED certification and went through a background check, but I am willing to do one again if needed! At the daycare, I worked with rooms of children from a few weeks old to eight years old, and I went through lots of childcare training for that position!
After I left the daycare I started nannying a 6-week-old and took care of her three days a week for a year!
I have my driver's license and am totally okay with transporting kids or taking care of any housework you might have!
Depending on responsibilities /number of kids my rates would usually be anywhere from $20-$25, but I’m willing to talk about rates further!!

Understand Nanny Responsibilities in Shelby Township, MI
Before beginning the search for a nanny, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a nanny is the right choice for your child care needs. In hiring a nanny, first, you should think through what responsibilities you expect your nanny to handle. With that information, you can create a profile so that nannies can reach out to you. The boundaries for nannies duties vary from family to family. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example, housekeeping or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your nanny before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location can impact how much you should pay your nanny.
Shelby Township Nanny Interviews
Once you start connecting with prospective nannies, the next step is a nanny interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some nanny interview questions to consider asking:
- Do you have experience being a nanny?
- How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?
- What sort of household tasks are you open to doing?
- Are you open to a live in arrangement in Shelby Township? Do you have experience being a live in nanny?
- Are you open to being a nanny in a nanny share?
- Do you have any references?
- Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Shelby Township?
- Do you have a driver’s license in MI? Do you own a car?
- What salary are you seeking? Are you open to being paid through direct-deposit, pay stubs?
- What are your expectations around over-time pay and vacation time?
During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references, and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a prospective nanny, it’s essential to make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your nanny. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around nanny responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming! And of course, as you learn how to hire a nanny, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.
Daycare vs. Hiring a Nanny
Choosing between putting your child in daycare and hiring a nanny can be a tough decision. While nannies are often more expensive, they provide individualized attention and flexibility. Daycares, on the other hand, prioritize socialization. Our Nanny vs Daycare guide can help you determine what's best for your family.
