A little bit about me
I have been working with children on and off for the past 10 years and always gotten joy out of it. I love to watch little ones discover the world for their own and help support them through the process. When you love what you do it never feels like work, that is how I feel about working with children.
I am currently pursuing my degree in child development focusing on the development of human relationships. I have also recently taken an interest in working with special needs and developmentally challenged individuals. For the past two years, I have worked part time (mostly on call) with a respite care company, providing care to families that have differently abled children. I find this job very rewarding, I have built relationships with a few families and get great joy from seeing/hearing how their children progress.
My experience with children goes further as a full time nanny, summer nanny, long-term date night/occasional sitter and after school sitter.
I have been previously described as punctual, dependable, patient, kind, nurturing, loving and fun. My goal when working with the children is to stay interactive and engaged with them, providing support and learning opportunities through all of our activities. Some examples of how we will spend our time are: reading, arts&crafts, imaginary play, outings to the park, dancing and playing with music.
My preference is for fulltime (8hr/day) Monday through Friday. However I will also work occasional weekends/ date nights. Please feel free to contact me with any questions!
I look forward to hearing from you!
Kindly,
Taylor

Understand Nanny Responsibilities in Springfield, OR
Before beginning the search for a nanny, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a nanny is the right choice for your child care needs. In hiring a nanny, first, you should think through what responsibilities you expect your nanny to handle. With that information, you can create a profile so that nannies can reach out to you. The boundaries for nannies duties vary from family to family. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example, housekeeping or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your nanny before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location can impact how much you should pay your nanny.
Springfield Nanny Interviews
Once you start connecting with prospective nannies, the next step is a nanny interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some nanny interview questions to consider asking:
- Do you have experience being a nanny?
- How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?
- What sort of household tasks are you open to doing?
- Are you open to a live in arrangement in Springfield? Do you have experience being a live in nanny?
- Are you open to being a nanny in a nanny share?
- Do you have any references?
- Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Springfield?
- Do you have a driver’s license in OR? Do you own a car?
- What salary are you seeking? Are you open to being paid through direct-deposit, pay stubs?
- What are your expectations around over-time pay and vacation time?
During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references, and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a prospective nanny, it’s essential to make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your nanny. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around nanny responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming! And of course, as you learn how to hire a nanny, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.
Daycare vs. Hiring a Nanny
Choosing between putting your child in daycare and hiring a nanny can be a tough decision. While nannies are often more expensive, they provide individualized attention and flexibility. Daycares, on the other hand, prioritize socialization. Our Nanny vs Daycare guide can help you determine what's best for your family.
