"Amy has been with us for over 4 years and has been phenomenal with our son and her daily duties. She handled the daily care duties from age one to now kindergarten and has helped our special needs son fully grow and develop. She took lessons from his pre-school and speech therapy and applied “school at home” to make sure that he was getting additional schooling during breaks or off days. She also found fun activities for him to experience, engaged him in outdoor and indoor play while also seeing to general household chores. She made a special point to find engaging and educational activities outside the home that he would enjoy and give him a chance to be exposed to other children and experiences. She has been a phenomenal asset to our working family and will be greatly missed as our son moves to full time schooling and our childcare needs have diminished."

I love playing outside at the parks and going for walks. I enjoy doing craft projects, like making slime and water color painting. I really enjoy watching babies discover how to discover the world around them as they develop each month. I enjoy showing babies, new toys and bubbles. Singing and reading books are always fun. I took a giant box and made it into a car once it was so much fun.

My experience with special needs children...
I have a niece with a feeding tube and in a wheelchair. I have helped a little with watching her. Working with autistic kids that are very high functioning. I don’t feel very confident working with kids with severe autism and no communication skills. The way autistic kids see the world is very unique and inspires me to imagine more.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Seeing the 5 year old boy I have been most recently watching discover the escalator for the first time. We had to go up and down it about 10 times and the way his face lit up when he first saw it was so amazing!!
