Relevant experience where I also cared for children were…I worked at a daycare for the summer of 2021 and I also babysat my Head Coach's autistic son on the weekends.
Activities I enjoy doing with children…Painting (Nails and canvas), being out in nature, reading, spending time with animals (my German shepherds puppy), critical thinking such as word crosses and puzzles, spreading love in general :)
The most important part about being a nanny…Having patience. And letting children be CHILDREN for the love of God. There will be temper tantrums and there will be frustrating times but every kid deserves someone who's willing to teach them how to conduct themselves in a healthy manner. Trauma is formed at a young age; young children should only be around adults that genuinely care.
My experience with special needs children…I worked with an autistic 12 year old every weekend for almost a year straight. Requires a lot of patience and someone with a calm demeanor as they tend to suffer from anxiety due to the feeling of being overwhelmed and misunderstood.
My favorite nanny moment…When my child (the I was caring for) told me he loved me. It was that moment that I realized this was what I was meant to do. I still cry telling the story.
