A little bit about me…

Hi Families. I was a nanny for various families for 20 years until I took a break to go back to school and get my BA. I'm very intelligent and happy to help with even complex homework. I enjoy working in a home environment, being around children and doing domestic chores. I'm happy to run errands and make meals. I helped one family in Michigan for almost six years and another family in Vermont for about three years. I loved being part of both family's lives. I am open to either full-time or part-time work depending on family needs and the compensation offered. Most of my experience is with children ages newborn to ten, but I am open to a new adventure working alongside a family with older children. I am an Orthodox Christian and love and serve the Lord Jesus Christ, but you don't need to be Christian for me to love your family and work hard to care for you. I have references I will share once we determine that we may want to work together. God bless your search for the perfect care!

Hi! I’m Anadiah, a kind and dependable nanny with experience caring for infants through school age children. I am studying psychology and focus on respectful care, emotional development, and consistent routines. I am looking for a part-time nanny role with a family who values communication, trust, and a supportive relationship.

A little bit about me…

I have been a career nanny for 31 years. Children are my passion and have been since I was a child myself. I started babysitting at age 12, worked in day care starting at age 16 while participating in my high schools ECD Co-op program. In 1995 when I became a mother, I made the move to being a private nanny. I have 6 children of my own and 8 grandchildren (so far!).
I have a year and a half of nursing school as well. I love the outdoors: hiking, biking, swimming and anything to do with the arts. I enjoy painting, singing and acting in community theater in my free time as well as going to concerts and the ballet. I am extremely patient and warm, I have great communication skills and work in tandem with the parents in all aspects of the children's care. I am flexible, dependable and overtly punctual.

"Jenie was very hands on and active with the children. She quickly became an important extension of our family,. She took the kids to and from school, tutored them, took them on field trips during school holidays and on occasion even filled in for doctor visits when I was unable to take off of work. In addition to meeting the kids' needs she assisted with keeping the kids' areas clean and at times would get dinner started due to my erratic work schedule."

How to Hire a Nanny in Texas

Nanny Lane is an easy-to-use website that helps families find experienced local nannies in Texas. Simplify your nanny search and find your perfect nanny today. Our services include background checks, nanny contracts, and nanny payroll.

Understand Nanny Responsibilities in Texas

Before beginning the search for a nanny, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a nanny is the right choice for your child care needs. In hiring a nanny, first, you should think through what responsibilities you expect your nanny to handle. With that information, you can create a profile so that nannies can reach out to you. The boundaries for nannies duties vary from family to family. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example, housekeeping or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your nanny before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location can impact how much you should pay your nanny.

Texas Nanny Interviews

Once you start connecting with prospective nannies, the next step is a nanny interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some nanny interview questions to consider asking:

  • Do you have experience being a nanny?
  • How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?
  • What sort of household tasks are you open to doing?
  • Are you open to a live in arrangement in Texas? Do you have experience being a live in nanny?
  • Are you open to being a nanny in a nanny share?
  • Do you have any references?
  • Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Texas?
  • Do you have a Texas driver’s license? Do you own a car?
  • What salary are you seeking? Are you open to being paid through direct-deposit, pay stubs?
  • What are your expectations around over-time pay and vacation time?

During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references, and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a prospective nanny, it’s essential to make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your nanny. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around nanny responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming! And of course, as you learn how to hire a nanny, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.
